Faux or Fresh: Which Greenery to Prefer

This question to me is similar to the classic one: To be or not to be… In my west backyard I have at least 9 hours of direct sun during summertime. I tried and I tried to keep something fresh on the tabletop as a centerpiece, but every time this something lasted not more then 2 weeks. I guess in this type of weather relatively small planters just overheat anyways, and you have to face the consequences over and over again.
So I settled in piece with the idea of having faux stems centerpiece on the table in my backyard. But what should this be? Succulents…? It took me a while to find something, that I really love, and the puzzle came along right away.
First came the planter. When I saw this 12″ gently ruffled – ribbed planter I knew exactly where to place it in my home! Then came boxwood idea…
So far using realistic faux boxwood stems as a centerpiece on the tabletop in my sunny backyard has been a delightful experience that effortlessly marries practicality with aesthetic appeal. The natural light enhances the vibrant green of the faux boxwood stems, making them appear incredibly lifelike. As I opted for a matte white planter, which provides a charming contrast to the sleek, verdant stems and complements the stems. The neutral white tones of the planter accentuate the rich green of the boxwood, creating a balanced and elegant centerpiece.
I arranged the faux stems in a loose, natural fashion, ensuring they looked lush and full. The stems are bendable, allowing me to shape them to create the perfect silhouette that mimics the organic growth of real boxwood.
The faux boxwood stems provide a timeless green element that works beautifully in every season. During spring and summer, they blend seamlessly with the blooming flowers and greenery. In the autumn and winter, they offer a refreshing contrast to the more muted landscape.
One of the biggest advantages is the low maintenance. Unlike real plants, the faux boxwood requires no watering or pruning, maintaining its vibrant appearance regardless of weather conditions. This ensures that my centerpiece remains perfect throughout the year without any effort.
During outdoor gatherings, the faux boxwood centerpiece serves as a striking focal point on the dining table. Its lush greenery draws guests’ eyes and provides a beautiful backdrop for meals and conversations.
I often pair the boxwood stems with elegant table settings. Simple white dinnerware, crystal glasses, and neutral linens allow the vibrant green centerpiece to stand out, adding a touch of sophistication and natural beauty to the table.
As evening falls, I enhance the ambiance by adding soft candlelight around the centerpiece. The warm glow of the candles highlights the texture of the boxwood stems, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere for my guests.
