The moment I saw this chandelier in the open breakfast-kitchen-living area, I already knew that we are going to be lining towards mid-century modern loft style interior design with leather and wood in a number of shades of browns and greys.
I already pictured in my head the accent chairs, wall clock, sideboards, couple mirrors and planters to pair with this chandelier to slightly fill in this space. And I found exact items that I’ve been picturing in my mind.
Magic of a Mid Century Modern Chandelier

What defines interior design of a home as a starting point of creative journey? – Taste… Customer preferences… Floor-plan… Antique items inherited from you grand grand mother you want to preserve and pass on… Favorite coffee table…?
Actually, when thinking of a starting defining point of the whole creative experience, I would say that the a-ha moment, the kick off detail, the inspirational item or paradigm can be absolutely anything:)
You can walk in Floor&Decor, Lowe’s, Home Depot, Living Spaces, Ikea, Crate&Barrel, Pottery Barn, Target or any other store, see something that is calling for you and you absolutely have to have to, and this is it – the moment when you stat building all your other ideas on top of this center piece. And this can be anything – certain color, a rug, a table, doorhandles, whatever…
In our case this was a chandelier. It already resided in a home when we purchased it, and for us this humble from the first glance piece of metal became the starting and defining point of the whole interior and furniture design puzzle.
